Levels of violence fell considerably in Iraq last week. At least 12 people were killed and 25 injured in nationwide incidents last week, low figure for the country.

Quietest recorded since April. The government has increased its counter-insurgency operations around the centre and north of the country.

A total of 13 bomb attacks left three people dead and 22 injured. No suicide bombings recorded

A lower than normal number of small arms attacks left eight people dead and three injured. There were no indirect fire attacks recorded.

Most of the week's violence took place in the northern city of Mosul. The central region was the next most violent part of the country but it was still far quieter than normal, with no violence recorded in Diyala province and only one incident recorded in Salah ad-Din province.
