What have they done since they opened?

Is there any advice to newcomers and which course to choose?
Who are the best CP Training providers?

Just been on this raising standards page on FB.
Glad I can now cross off Excellentia from my CP training list.

I heard only good things about Excellentia on Close Protection World, and on google searches it came up a lot.
It was listed as being one of the top UK providers.

This Raising standards page is telling people not to go to Excellentia and not to invest cash in that particular training provider as its a dressed up 21 day course that is really 16 days.

It says a few TP's out there are excelling in the higher standards arena but does not list them.

Could someone possibly give me a list of the best CPTP's?

BTW, the owner of CPW is the owner of Excellentia.  Go figure!

I now understand why excellentia is advertised as the best TP on that forum.

Unfortunately I can't comment on either of these companies , it would be wrong for me to do so as I don't even know the CEO, I would be lowering the high standards we have set on the forum and I would just be seen as the CPD Admin bashing a rival forum.
Much too easy and not our style.

CPD is already becoming the most professional forum out there, without needing to dig a hole for others, they will dig it themselves.

The group is to discuss all aspects of operational and training standards.  After all, standards is what determines the level of professionalism and the end result of any successful op for a client.

But that can be done here also.  

I said it before and many share my thoughts including British people that I am not impressed with SIA or their standards.
Pretty much anyone can start training cp operatives with little or none experience as long as you have the license and some instructor pre learning. In Sweden I believe only 3-4 companies have this license and it is difficult to get. Obvious the groups are to try and find out new ways and ideas to raise standards and put pressure on the SIA and Government. Now I don't have a SIA training or license since I don't work in UK however I am still in that group. But UK have had regulated and licensed training since 2006 when we in Sweden had this since the 1940´s. It is impossible to jump on a cp course and start working in Sweden.
All must have a security guard training and have minimum of 2 years experience as security guard, and be minimum 23 years old. After this you can take on 1 week weapon handling since in Sweden cp operatives can use 9mm pistols. The cp course is runs over 10-12 days but cover things the British SIA don't have like ex: Self-defence! In Sweden and Norway no one can work privately as cp operator unless you are employed directly under the client ex Volvo security dep pays you salary (no invoice). Otherwise it must be within a authorised security company and with a special license for cp currently only 10-11 companies have this and about 5-6 of them work armed. This is one idea of raising the standards because today just anyone in UK can jump into the cp industry with no previous experience or knowledge. That means any muppet who make the course will be given a license. That is not possible in my country nor in Norway. Things like this gives an idea of how we can help raising standards and maybe in future to get a EU standard something I would welcome. Since I been on several HE contracts in the beginning it was only a few companies that accepted foreign training, these days I noticed more and more accepted equal training from other nations. Hawk.
