Christmas as a foot through the door Empty Christmas as a foot through the door

Due to many operators/agents/CPOs wanting to be at home for Christmas, there seems to be a high demand of workforce at this time of the year, making it the best time for newbies to get their toes through the door, whatever their sector of the industry.

E.g. Christmas 2011 was great for MARSEC, but I'm not sure it was too good this year...

It can be, it all depends on WHAT you know, who you know, luck and timing. I don't think it's been as opportunistic this year with the recession and economic climate though, compared to previous years.

Research is the key :)

So many more stories of wages dropping through the floor and operators not getting their sea days.

I think a lot of operators that may have left the forces to work Marsec are now finding their way back again!
