The Security Managers and Consultants course (SMCC) prepares candidates for the realities of the Security Industry in challenging environments.

Candidates completing the course will have a recognized formal qualification and be familiar with security industry best practices, procedures and knowledge to allow them to work in different sectors.

Attendees successfully completing the course and all assessments will be awarded a BTEC Level 5 Advanced Professional Diploma in Security Management and Consultancy along with the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) Managing Safety Certificate.

Because the course has been developed by Control Risks you can be sure that the qualification will be positively recognized by employers in the industry, and will give you a real head start in your career in security consultancy.

Course Content
The course is split into two separate modules (which can be attended concurrently) consisting of an initial 8 day residential BTEC Level 4 Professional Certificate, designed to provide the basic skills and core modules for a Security Manager.

Then a further 12 day residential phase (successful completion of Level 4 is a mandatory pre-entry requirement) which will lead to a BTEC Level 5 Advanced Professional Diploma (upon successful completion of post course assignments) focusing on the key fields of security consultancy.

The full 20 day course covers the full spectrum of skills and knowledge required of a security manager and consultant, equipping you with the expertise to manage any challenge you may be faced with in the role. It is one of the most comprehensive and highly respected courses in the security sector.

BTEC Level 5 Residential Training (12 days):

Taught by leading industry professionals
The course is taught by a mix of Control Risks’ security consultants, all of whom have significant operational experience at this level and above. They bring to the course their experience of operating in the corporate arena across a wide range of different roles and specialisms. Control Risks’ experienced operations managers and directors also give a number of presentations and case studies, in addition to meeting the attendees and advising them on potential career opportunities.

Venue

The course takes place on our secluded 1,000 acre estate in Shropshire, ensuring privacy for practical exercises. Extremely comfortable full board accommodation is provided nearby.

2013 Course Fees
Fees for the full course are £6,000 including full board accommodation (and VAT) for 20 days (19 nights’ accommodation). If taken as separate modules fees are £2,700 (8 days and 7 nights food and accommodation) and £3,300 (12 days and 11 nights food and accommodation) respectively for the BTEC Level 4 and 5. Full payment is required to confirm your place on the courses.
