Covert Body Armour Empty Covert Body Armour

Evening all.

First of all please let me apologise for my ignorance regarding this subject.

I am after an honest opinion and some guidance in regards to purchasing some upper body covert body armour. My role (events tactical support) does not allow me to wear an overt vest, my main threat could be spikes, blades, needles ect. I need something that is relatively light but gives me a good degree of protection to my vital organs.
I am aware that other areas of my body are unprotected, however for me it's about reducing the risk.

Regards
Ricky

It's good you are thinking of your personal safety Ricky. I know a few lads who use PPSS vests on the doors (member Pyrene on here is one of them) and speak highly of them. Another good vest manufacturer is Vestguard, I use some of their kit myself.

Another item to consider is a pair of Kevlar lined anti-slash gloves. I have a pair of these:

Many thanks Sabre, Vestguard seem to offer a good package or two. I have contacted a few companies, but the last rep I spoke to hadn't even worn the product.

Your helps been much appreciated.

Thanks Ted, I did see the PPSS video you posted it's a quality piece of kit. I have spoken to a couple of operatives who swear by it, so I will be going with PPSS.

PPSS I believe bought out a Swedish bodyarmourvest manufacture definitely some cooperation between them. Between my work abroad and running training programs, I have sold security equipment when people or companies asked for certain products.
I used to sell CPE, Engarde and Swedish bodyarmour vests the last one SBA I believe is one of the best vests I ever worked in
When it comes to overt vests I worked much in British made Global Armouring and found it ok/ Hawk
