ATAC - Training (Official trailer)
As it was pointed out on another post, Hostage rescue situations training is becoming more and more "fashionable" in the CP industry. Those sorts of courses sell well and many providers are now trainign guys in CP but also providing them with hostage rescue training.
Do you think this is useful for CP? Does it have anything to do with CP?
Could you really see and imagine a government granting a commercial sector CP Team the authorisation to go and carry out a hostage rescue mission in order to get the principal back.
All these questions lead me to believe that there is a large gap between CP and hostage rescue and that it certainly isn't the job of the CPT.
Here is a video of what seems to be a fairly new anti terror training center in the Czech Republic, as you can see from the video CP is mixed with hostage rescue.
This TP seems to be a joint effort between ex Czech SF and 22 SAS guys.
Thoughts on the video?

Re: ATAC - Training (Official trailer)
Is it not the point of a CPT to not be anywhere near that type of threat due to risk/threat assessments?
I have a fair bit experience in HR via police and I wasn't confident in team members if they hadn't trained for a while, also if training is not standardised or regular would anyone really want to do the job/ trust next member in such a high risk pressure environment. Would the host government even let you?
Admittedly I'm new and probably in need of a reality check. I look forward to seeing more experienced views in this post.

Yes teamplayer, my personal view is that all this HR stuff is just to selll well.
HR has nothing to do with CP and as Rich H was saying on another post, if the principal is kidnapped, authorities need to deal with this.
There used to be a CP course in Russia organised by a French company.
Students would train in a Russian SF camp called Vitiaz and also in Almaty in Kazakstan.
To be honest the course was mostly BS. Trainees rappeled, they did military scuba diving learning how to place explosives under a boat, they did a parachute jump.
I mean come on, that is just crazy. Has nothing to do with CP but many guys joining rhe course were mostly airsoft players and guys wanting to play soldier.
In the end the company got thrown out of Russia by local Police!

Ted,
I saw a lot of Aikido and testosterone in that video. Aikido I love but I think if it was me it would show me breaking the 3min mile running away.

Re: ATAC - Training (Official trailer)
The aim in CP is not to stay in the danger zone. The aim is to prevent and anticipate any potential danger. If you get hit there was a failure somewhere, and even once you get hit the aim is to get the principal to safety and get out of there as fast as possible. That is why I am not too fond of those CP courses which teach you how to kill someone with your bare hands or using metal wire to take out someone.

Re: ATAC - Training (Official trailer)
Apart from anything else, if the team tasked with protecting the principle loses him/her, would that really demonstrate that they should be the ones to try and get the poor chap/chapess back?
I'd also like to see the invoice for such a gig?!
