Krav Maga instructors course.
I have been teaching a variety of people ranging from Customs Officers to Film producers KM all unofficially. I personally feel that I should complete a instructors course as the people I teach (under the radar) are very confidant in my teaching skills. I've noticed that more people are asking me for advice on how to defend themselves, some of which are PPO's!
I have been training in KM for the last 4 years, I attend training roughly 2 days a week and I've still got the Krav bug.
Could anybody shed any light on a respected TP?
My one big request is that it's taught by current/ ex
IDF or shin bet operatives and it must be conducted in Israel.
I'm a firm believer in the saying "if your going to do something, then do it properly or not at all"
Many thanks
Charlie H.

I would say hoepoe is the man you want to speak to Charlie, I`m fairly sure he has some very good contacts in Israel. I will vouch for you if he is worried about PerSec etc.

Re: Krav Maga instructors course.
I spent a fair amount of time in Israel and was involved in Israeli Martial Arts and was teaching Kapap (in France). (Krav Panim el Panim)
I have trained in Krav Maga with various federations:
IKMF (Emmanuel Ayache)
OKM - Operational Krav Maga (Aaron Elbaze)
IMKM - Israeli Military Krav Maga (Amit Porat)
You can't do instructor courses in Israel with all federations as some require you to be part of that federation and ask for you to have a specific amount of experience in KM.
I would go to the Wingate Institute, best place to learn KM. (They ask for Brown belt or above)

Re: Krav Maga instructors course.
Ronin is spot on; if you can, Wingate is the highest qualification in Israel you will get BUT is not very well known outside of Israel. In addition, the associations/federations mentioned are good but seldom hold instructors classes in Israel - learning via a federation/association does indeed bind you somewhat to them but with that also comes potential business opportunities. (I have never heard of OKM). Regardless of who you learn with, a qualification that is recognised in the UK is paramount for your own professional liability should a student get hurt during one of your classes.
Contact. I taught (not KM) on a non-IKM related counter terror course alongside the head of the training division for IKM http://ikmkravmaga.com/ will PM you his private email.
Good luck and feel free to ask if you have any more questions.

Re: Krav Maga instructors course.
Hi Ivor,
New federations are being created up every month :-) but that is the story of life, people come together, then people part, some go their separate ways and want to create and be the head of their own system.
Gabi Noah used to train in Netanya under Eyal Yanilov right?
Gabi Noah was a part of the IKMF just like Yanilov was.
Gabi Noah trained special units in the IDF and was the one who trained Emmanuel Ayache who taught me some KM in France.
I had not heard anything about this IKM before and it looks great, Gabi Noah has now left the IKMF I guess, just like his old teacher Eyal Yanilov who has his own thing going:
Krav Maga Global:

I have heard good things about Dror Shalom who is recognised by the IL Ministry of Education.
http://krav-maga.com/
Was also impressed with the guys from Kapap Israel and I trained with them at Tel-Aviv University.
Haim Peer and Dudi Arama, very strong guys and some great students there.
About OKM, the founder is Gabi Shai.
Gabi Shai's past:
-B.Ed, Wingate Institute of Physical Education
-Israeli Security Agency former officer
-Expert in the various fields of security
-Specializes in development and implementation of comprehensive security projects and in the development of modern operational training methodologies.
I trained OKM in France and was really impressed with it, it is very hard hitting:
Another force to be reckoned with in Israel is Itay Gil, ex Yamam.
Great technique, he conducts training in Jerusalem, but he is very very very very pricy.

Re: Krav Maga instructors course.
I know Itay Gil well. Good guy, his main focus now is developing a security program (non-combat) at the Jerusalem University. He has a MMA type school still.
I'm not very involved in the commercial KM world at all, and certainly stay far away from the politics of it all. When i qualified as a KM instructor it was 20 odd years ago and there was nothing commercial about it; no belts, no grading and quiet honestly, not too much content either.

Isn't everyone from Israel? LOL :-)
