Gaza terrorists attempted to shoot down an Israeli aircraft last week, the AFP news agency reports. The attackers used a Soviet-made Strela missile.

IDF sources said they had been aware that Gaza terrorists possessed Strela missiles, but that last week’s attempted shooting was the first confirmed firing. The incident occurred as the air force targeted terrorist infrastructure in Gaza following rocket attacks on southern Israel.
