Green light from the Cape Verde Gov for MARSEC OPS

The Government of Cape Verde now allows maritime security companies to operate in its territory.

The Government also instructed Cape Verde Maritime Security Services to vet and authorise or not all the Marsec companies who plan to use the ports of Cape Verde which is located off the coasts of Senegal. The vetting will cover training, insurance, logistics and armament issues.

The British company called SeaMarshals was the first to receive such accreditation. This company operates in the Indian Ocean, is now deploying the to the Gulf of Guinea, which is is located south of Cape Verde.
