THE Zimbabwe National Army's Presidential Guard celebrated its 29th anniversary this year.

November 2012:

65 graduands were conferred with certificates after undergoing a course on general squad and small arms at the Presidential Guard in Dzivarasekwa this Friday.

Speaking at the graduation ceremony, Zimbabwe National Army civil military relations director, Colonel Charles Matema reminded the graduates to remain vigilant and guard jealously the gains of the liberation struggle.

He said the course was meant to enhance their physical and mental stamina, while at the same time maintaining the level of discipline that has already been instilled into the army officers.

The squad drill and small arms course commenced on the 3rd of September and the 65 participants underwent intense training which was characterised by sleepless nights of rigorous exercises.

The participants were also taught the basic aspects of squad drills, and using the correct words of command.
