Prince Harry given briefing by MI6 secret agents
Prince Harry made a private visit to MI6 after fellow soldier Drummer Lee Rigby was hacked to death, it has emerged.
The Prince – who has twice served in Afghanistan – was briefed by secret agents on terror threats posed to Britain abroad as he toured the spy headquarters in Vauxhall, South London.
The meeting comes just weeks after Drummer Rigby was brutally murdered as he returned to his Army barracks in Woolwich.
It has also emerged that a man believed to be a white Muslim convert, Ashraf Islam, admitted making threats to kill Prince Harry, 28, the day after the murder of the soldier.
It is understood the Prince was given a detailed briefing on terror threats, security issues at home and current MI6 operations.
A source told The Sun: "He was briefed on the jihadist threat.
"Harry described the death of Drummer Rigby as 'truly shocking' and 'a tragedy'.
"The Afghanistan briefing was the most detailed and Harry was very interested."
Prince Harry is thought to have attended the briefing in his role as Prince rather than army officer. He was invited last year and finally attended after months of planning.
A spokesman for St James's Palace said: "Prince Harry paid a private visit to the secret intelligence service on Monday."
