DETAIL: Two robbers boarded an anchored Chemical tanker at 00:18 LT in position 07:05S - 112:39.7E, Gresik Inner Anchorage, Indonesia. The robbers caught the duty watch keeper, threatened him with a knife and stole ship's stores. When robbers were noticed, alarm raised and crew mustered resulting in the robbers escaping. All crew safe. Reported 7 January.

DETAIL: Equatorial Guinea-flagged general cargo ship, San Miguel, was approached at 10:00 LT in vicinity of position 02:06.45N - 009:33.07E, about 20nm NNW of Bata, Equitorial Guinea whilst travelling from Malabo to Bata carrying about 150 tons of cargo. Three pirates armed with automatic weapons in a small boat approached the vessel requesting assistance from the Master, who believed the assailants were under duress. Permitting them to pull alongside for aid enabled the pirates to board the vessel and disable AIS, GPS tracking systems. The pirates robbed the 9 crew of cash, however, then ordered the Master to continue sailing towards Kribi, Cameroon, in order to find vessel/platform to rob. Reportedly, no targets were found and the ship was ordered to Nigerian waters where the Master and two crew were taken hostage. The vessel and remaining crew were released 5 Jan and able to return to Bioko Island. Reported 3 Jan.

AREA: 150 NM SW of INDIA COAST
DETAIL: While underway the tanker «Svet» was approached by a suspicious boat at the distance of 5 cables according to the MSG Team leader report. She was very modern boat with powerful engine 30-40 meters long white color with light green deck, at least one man on the upper bridge was observed with machinegun. So on the deck was noted rubber boat with engine. No any name or number was observed on the boat.
Total quantity of people around 15 persons on the deck. The alert was sounded and all crew escaped into Citadel. Onboard armed security team responded immediately and weapon was demonstrated resulting in suspicious boat moved away. Another two suspicious boats were sighted in the vicinity.

Bulk carrier reported approach by 1 Yemeni-style skiff at 0815 UTC in position 15:42N - 041:29E, Red Sea. 

Skiff with 7 POB AK47 rifles and hooked metal ladder sighted, it was tracking the vessel within 0.7nm, but moved away after observing the vessel for a short time. AST embarked. Vessel is safe. Reported 30 November.

YEMEN LNG gas company evacuated hundreds of workers from its Balhaf terminal on the Gulf of Aden, after a mortar round hit the site. The evacuation of non-essential staff, a temporary precaution, did not affect operations and liquefaction trains. A "minor explosion occurred" inside the plant on Friday. The blast caused only slight damage to non-essential equipment.

Cameroon-flagged coastal cargo vessel, LD Challenger, was attacked at 0130 LT in position 04:20N - 008:45E in Cameroon waters, Gulf of Guinea. Two speedboats with 7-8 pirates in each attacked the vessel, pirates managed to board the vessel. Security team of Cameroon soldiers were on board, in ensuing firefight several pirates were reportedly killed, remaining pirates fled. Reported 3 December.
