Role Summary/PurposeThe Security & Crisis Management (SCM) Director will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating all areas of SCM as it relates to the Oil & Gas business, including the alignment of global security policies and procedures for business operations as well as regulatory and legislative compliance. The Director serves as the principal liaison with Federal, State, and Local law enforcement authorities and works closely with the Company’s legal and HR functions.
Essential Responsibilities

  • Direct the development of effective strategies to mitigate risk, maintain continuity of operations and safeguard company people and property for the O&G business
  • Interface with all levels of business, CEO through frontline, in identifying and maintaining security processes, practices and policies affecting all GE people and operations in the business.
  • Develop and maintain a keen understanding of the intellectual property and critical assets within the O&G business and any vulnerabilities to loss, and working with the O&G CISO, ensure effective controls are implemented.
  • Direct the implementation and administration of O&G security investigation programs world-wide and drives risk-based, intelligence driven strategies to detect, investigate, correct and prevent fraudulent and abusive practices against the company
  • Develop business and corporate policies and procedures regarding SCM, and ensures policies are compliant with federal, state, corporate and international regulations
  • Analyze and identifies adverse activity based on actionable intelligence, and preparation of threat and risk assessments, to mitigate reputational and financial risk
  • Serve on collaborative, cross-functional internal committees as well as external work groups to address theft, fraud/abuse, employee relations, industry trends and recovery goals
  • Prepare well-written comprehensive reports and executive summaries for senior management and legal counsel for disciplinary and prosecutorial actions; provides quarterly updates to company executives
  • Maintain strong liaison and working relationships with all federal, state and local law enforcement and regulatory agencies, including international enforcement agencies
  • Coordinate investigative efforts with Corporate Security to ensure alignment with policies, programs and other security functions

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent knowledge and experience
  • Extensive years of related experience required, law enforcement, preferably federal, and/or corporate security
  • Ability to manage confidential information with exceptional judgment and discretion
  • Ability to coordinate, work with and gain the trust of business stakeholders, and articulate sophisticated fact patterns and memorialize information into reporting requirements
  • Ability to manage personnel and programs globally, requiring a developed criterion for actionable items
  • Manage multiple tasks efficiently and productively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Demonstrated ability to lead diverse and cross-cultural teams to achieve common objectives
  • Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills
  • Proven analytical and problem solving abilities
  • Ability to travel approximately 30% of the time
