Operations Manager, Lagos
Nigeria
Rotational (6 weeks on / 6 weeks off)
Crisis and Security Consulting, Africa Country Manager, Nigeria
To support the Country Manager and Deputy Country Manager for Nigeria in the management and development of the Nigeria business unit;
To manage the operations of the Control Risks consultants deployed to Nigeria, liaising with other Control Risks departments as necessary;
Retain and develop staff and consultants, rendering high quality services to existing clients and identified new clients;
To be a focal point within the Lagos office for the operational management of tasks in Nigeria.
Tasks and Responsibilities
Operational
Day-to-day operational management of the consultants and client requirements in Nigeria;
Ensure that all teams are fully manned, maximising revenue;
Train and brief Control Risks Services West Africa (CRSWA) consultants prior to deployments about
Control Risks and client operations to ensure that they are able to work to the agreed scope of work and understand their role;
Quality assure and quality control (QA/QC) the output of deployed consultants;
Manage CRSWA operational tasks throughout Nigeria in conjunction with the Deputy Country Manager, Nigeria and London Operations Manager;
Maintain a high degree of loyalty between CRSWA employees, Control Risks Services Limited (CRSL) employees, subcontractors and Control Risks;
Support the CRSWA Country Manager, Deputy Country Manager and London based Operations Manager in all aspects of operational management; including deputizing in their absence;
Assist in the implementation of the local content strategy for the country;
Regularly liaise with the Global Risks Analysis (GRA) department’s analysts in order to maintain an up to date understanding of the threat to businesses operating in Nigeria;
Liaison with international Control Risks offices on operational matters pertaining to Nigeria;
Mentor CRSWA and CRSL consultants as and when required; Business Development
Identify and pursue business leads with other departments and offices of Control Risks;
To work with the London based Nigeria Operations Manager in maintaining and developing client relations in order to grow existing contracts;
Work with Global Client Services (GCS) and the London based Nigeria Operations Manager to create and exploit sales leads with clients;
Support the Group Africa team in developing strategies and sales leads for the region;
Work to ensure ‘One Firm’ delivery to clients;
Exploit short term tasks as sales-leads; Business Management
Maximise revenue and margin from all contracts in Nigeria;
Oversee the administrative management of CRSWA employees and consultants;
Ensure rapid and accurate invoicing;
Assist in reducing debtor days;
Control and improve the cost base of the Nigeria operation;
Continually improve business processes;
Essential
Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in a similar working environment;
A proven commercial ability in business development and client relationship management in developing countries;
Remote management of a team;
Nigerian/West Africa Experience
