It carries out projects in 39 countries and campaigns for fairer cooperation with developing countries. If you are prepared to dedicate yourself to carrying out projects under sometimes difficult conditions and you match the requirements set out below, they look forward to receiving your application for the position of Expert (m/f) for the coordination of "Safety and Security" in Islamabad, Pakistan

The office is located in Islamabad, with duty trips to the project locations. The post is to be filled as soon as possible, with an initial term of 6 months.



Objectives and responsibilities of the position

As Expert (m/f) for the coordination of "Safety and Security", you are responsible for the coordination and control regarding the establishment and further development of a security management system that is based on the Welthungerhilfe security concept for Pakistan. The aim is to support the Country Director and the national/international staff by putting appropriate security measures into operation in the context of the implementation of the programmes and projects.



Your most important duties are as follows:

monitoring the security situation in the areas of Pakistan where we are operating, and also analysing and providing information and recommendations
taking a leadership role in the preparation and further development of the security plan, as well as adjusting and further developing security measures
ensuring the implementation of security plans and the regular review of emergency plans
ensuring national and international project staff receive awareness training and ongoing training on security matters, as well as carrying out training measures with special focus on building up national capacities
building up and nurturing relationships with local and regional security bodies and networks for the purpose of sharing information and coordinating the measures


Your qualifications will include:

an appropriate university or polytechnic degree, preferably in the fields of security management, international relations, or a comparable field
several years' professional experience in the field of security management within an international organisation, a company or a government body
several years' experience of development cooperation and of crisis situations in countries with difficult security situations, preferably Afghanistan/Pakistan
coordination and organisational skills - even under a high workload
very good command of both written and spoken English
