Announcing the new Motorola MOTOTRBO Compact Digital Portable Radio
Hot on the heels of the DP2000 & DP4000 series, Motorola has recently launched the DP3441. As those of you familiar with the analogue radios will already have spotted, the '344' in the model number gives the game away! This is a compact, digital portable, similar in size to it's analogue cousin the GP344. Priced at £470.00 RRP it is a bit on the expensive side for a non-display, non-keypad radio. But as we constantly see in this industry, the smaller it is the more it seems to cost!!
It has all of the features of the other digital radios in the family, including GPS capability. It can have up to 32 channels programmed into two zones, which is plenty for most people. For some reason Motorola have elected to use the same accessory side connector as on the DP2000 series which means any accessories you may already have for the DP3000 series will not be compatible. As a point to note, DP3000 and DP4000 radios use the same accessory side connector so all ancillaries, including programming cables, are compatible.
No news yet on whether or not a keypad version is in the offing. Keep checking back and as soon as we know, I'll post it here.
If you want more info, the link below takes you to the website where you can see and image of the radio and download the spec sheet.
